Diamonds and pearls wrapped around my thin neck
A blue satin dress to bring out my eyes
The walk through the hallway seemed like a trek
Through the window in my room the wind cries
The sky was a beauty filled with bright stars
But jealous the stars were of the moon's youth
Little did they know of the moon's many scars
By morning they will know of the ugly truth
Daily my mother says beauty is pain
The tips of diamonds slice my fair, light skin
I suppose they'll wake up to find me slain
Murder is considered a fatal sin
My brunette hair wrapped in tight little curls
They'll talk of my death by diamonds and pearls
Diamonds and pearls wrapped around my thin neck
A blue satin dress to bring out my eyes
The walk through the hallway seemed like a trek
Through the window in my room the wind cries
The sky was a beauty filled with bright stars
But jealous the stars were of the moon's youth
Little did they know of the moon's many scars
